Luis Fernando De La Selva

Luis De La Selva passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2021 at the age of 48.

Luis was born in Oxnard on November 17, 1972, to Aurora and Roberto De La Selva. He attended Fremont Junior High School and
graduated from Oxnard High School. He attended Moorpark College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Oxnard College.

Luis was an accomplished athlete throughout grade school and college. He was a multi-year varsity letterman at Oxnard High School
where he held numerous school records for wrestling. While at Moorpark College, he was a member of the
California Community College State Championship wrestling teams ('90 and '91), and was named a Community College All American Wrestler. Luis' passion
for sports continued through his service to his community's youth. He volunteered as a coach and referee for youth Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Wrestling,
having won numerous championships and bolstering the lives of many.

Luis' true passion was his family. He took every opportunity to spend quality time with his wife and two sons, Niko and Josiah. He enjoyed planning
family vacations, camping, and outdoor activities. Nothing brought Luis more joy than the admiration of Niko and Josiah for their father.
Luis' big heart and empathy for others was remarkable. He was quick to lend a helping hand and eager to assist the less fortunate, by any measure
of circumstance. Luis will always be known for his infectious smile, his daring whit, and his generosity to all.  

Luis is survived by Maggie De La Selva, their two sons Niko and Josiah, his mother Aurora De La Selva, his two brothers Sergio and Ivan
(Lejla Huskanovic), his two nephews Daniel and Mateo, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous family members and loved ones.

A mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church at 10 o'clock on June 19th, 2021, followed by interment at Santa Clara Cemetery.
