Elizabeth Jackelean Cunningham
October 2, 1937 – January 1, 2021
Born in Miami Florida to John and Mary Cunningham. She moved to Oxnard and at a young age becoming a travel agent at Seven Seas Travel and a bookkeeper for multiple berry farms. Mom was called to begin her heavenly journey on January 1, 2021.
She is survived by her sisters Mary Perreault, husband Rene, Kathy (Bamford), children Mary Johnson, husband Jeff, Darek Cunningham, wife Regina, Kasha Tepezano and Phara Jorgensen, husband Kristofer; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
As a single mother of 4 in the 60’s and 70’s it was hard for anyone, but she did it! She bought a house and raised her children as well as some of her grandchildren. She enjoyed having a diet Pepsi, York Patties, tea and toast, loved walking her grandkids to and from school making friends everywhere she went. Mom created many paintings, played piano, did astrology charts, always had a book to read and she would call and tell us what was coming on TV. She would go to the horse races with Darek and always bet on the Irish horses.
Quotes we remember ~ “Cash is King” and “without your health you have nothing” a favorite of Berlyn’s, “Erin go Bragh” which means “Ireland Forever” for her Irish heritage.
We want to thank everyone at Greenfield Care Center of Fillmore and the kind nurses and doctors at VCMC for taking care of her. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Salvation Army.
