Funeral Cost Guideline

Our staff understands that most people do not have a lot of experience in planning a funeral or cremation service and do not know what services, merchandise, and other components might be included in a memorial purchase. To help you better understand this sensitive purchase, we have provided you with this “List of Funeral Goods and Services” that our establishment can provide.

If you need our services for an immediate need or you’re preplanning for the future, we suggest you educate yourself about the purchase you’re about to make. Basic Services of Funeral Director, Staff and Overhead:

Items in this category may include licensed and/or certified personnel services, arrangement consultation(s), professional expertise in overseeing and coordination of services and overhead expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangement you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving of remains.)

Preparation of the Body:

Items in this category may include embalming, bathing, dressing, cosmetizing and casketing. Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Transportation:

Items in this category may include transfer or transport of the deceased as well as use of funeral vehicles and staff.

Use of Facilities and Staff:

Items in this category may include the use of facilities and staff for visitations, or funeral services, at our location or another location.

Caskets:

A complete price list will be provided at the arrangement conference.

Forwarding Remains to Another Funeral Home:

Items in this category may include services associated with the transfer, handling and transport of the deceased.

Receiving Remains from another Funeral Home:

Items in this category may include services associated with receiving, handling and transport of the deceased.

Direct Cremation:

Items in this category may include transfer of remains, refrigeration, crematory charges, and staff services.

Immediate Burial:

Items in this category may include transfer of remains, refrigeration, transportation, service vehicle and staff services.

Urns:

We offer a variety of urns for you to choose from. Call or visit us for details on our selections.

Flowers:

If flowers are desired, we can assist in a suitable selection of floral arrangements through our flower shoppe.

Other:

Items in this category include additional merchandise and services provided by our establishment, many of which are not provided by other funeral homes in Ventura County. Items and services may include monuments, coffee and/or catering services, custom memorial stationery products, our Caring Organizer™, Caring Voices™, Heritage Life Tributes™, CyberTributes™ and webcasting programs as well as other unique services.
