On Saturday, August 28, Trisha Walston McRea passed away in Ventura, California at the age of 46.
Trisha was born on June 17, 1975, in Hillsdale, Michigan to Thomas and Susan (Hagerman) Walston. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and then moved to California to earn her master’s degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. California became her home. Trisha spent the first part of her career as a therapist working with children and families with autism. An entrepreneur at heart, she then opened her own business, Lil Blu Coconut, which was a passion and source of pride for the past 8 years. Trisha married Scott McRea in 2004 and has two sons who she loved dearly, Jackson and Daylon. Trisha had a passion for life and never wanted to be like everyone else. She was fun and adventurous…with a spirit that was hard to resist. Like many of us, she also struggled, fighting through health challenges, including breast cancer that contributed to her death.
Trisha was preceded in death by her father, Thomas, and her brother, Craig, who’s loss she never quite recovered from. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving mother Susan, husband Scott, sons Jackson and Daylon, sisters Kimberly, Tara, Tamara (#walstonsistas), and their families, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, September 10th in Santa Barbara, California. A fund has been created for Jackson and Daylon and memorial contributions may be made through Venmo @mcrea-boys-fund or checks can be made out to Jackson & Daylon McRea c/o Flagstar Bank, 50 S. Howell Street, Hillsdale, MI 49242, please list #6000 on the memo line.
